New Contracts

Indian River Inlet Bridge
Freyssinet was awarded the stay cable and post-tensioning contract for the Indian River Inlet Bridge in Dewey Beach, Delaware by Skanska USA Civil Southeast Inc. Freyssinet will be again working with much of the same team with whom successfully completed the Arthur Ravenel Bridge over the Cooper River in Charleston, SC. This Design/Build Project includes a signature cable stayed structure supported with the patented Freyssinet Stay Cable System. Stay cables will range in size from 19 to 59 strands with each strand being an individually waxed and extruded semi-bonded Freyssinet monostrand. Some 1.8 million feet of high fatigue resistance 15.7mm (0.62”) diameter 1860MPa prestressing strand will be used for the stays, with approximately 1.2 million feet of 15.2mm (0.6”) diameter 1860MPa prestressing strand will be used for post-tensioning of the superstructure and transition piers. The site is currently being mobilized with the first cable stays scheduled to be erected in 1st quarter 2010 with completion by 4th quarter 2010. The Engineer for project is AECOM with International Bridge Technologies as a sub consultant.

Coast Meridian Overpass Project
Freyssinet has been awarded the contracts to furnish the Freyssinet Stay Cable System, Expansion joints and bearings on the Coast Meridian Overpass Project near Vancouver, BC, Canada. Site work is well underway with the first stays to be installed in early 2009 with completion of the cable supported superstructure scheduled by the end of 2009. The Contractor is SNC-Lavalin Constructors (Pacific). The Engineer is International Bridge Technologies.
